Summery Anime to End Your Summer Vacation With

August is coming to an end. The heat is settling down, but somehow… You still crave some extra summer vibes. Don’t you worry! I got a few anime to give you that last bit of summer before school starts!

Nagi No Asukara

“P.A. Works”, you might’ve heard of this studio before! The studio is well known for animating Angel Beats, Another, Charlotte and Shirobako.
Nagi No Asukara, also known as A Lull in the Sea, takes place near and in the ocean 90% off the show!

The show has 26 episodes waiting for you.

Long ago, all humans lived beneath the sea. However a lot of humans preferred living on land and abandoned living underwater completely. God punished them by taking off the special protection off the surface humans, which enabled them to breathe underwater, called “ena”.
Over time, the contact between the surface and sea people became less and less, but they still acknowledged each other's existence.
The show follows Hikari Sakishima and Manaka Mukaido, together with their childhood friends Chisaki Hiradaira and Kaname Isaki.
With no one available to teach these kids, they’re forced to go to the surface to attend school.
There they meet Tsumugu Kihara, a fisherman and a fellow classmate, who loves the sea.
Hikari and his friends encounter a lot of hardships, especially because of the deep seated hatred and discrimination between surface and sea people. Their personal lives will change, especially with the impending tempest which may spell doom for the people who live on the surface.

Flying Witch

For some incredibly relaxing and soothing vibes, check out Flying Witch.
The studio is JC.Staff. This studio animated some very popular shows, for example: Toradora, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan, Danmachi and.. Prison School?!
Flying Witch is a show INCREDIBLY different from Prison School, the exact opposite even.
With this anime starting in the warmer time of year, it sure will bring you that little bit of summer feeling.
Cicadas are chirping as loud as they can, school just ended and… A girl flying over you with a broom, handing you a Mandrake as a token of friendship?
The show aired back in spring 2016 with 12 episodes full of witchy goodness, together with a few 2 minute specials!

In the world of Flying Witch, practitioners who reach the age of 15 must leave home to become independent and study witchcraft. Makoto Kowata is one of those apprentice witches who left home to continue her study, hungry for knowledge. Along with her companion Chito, a black cat, they go on a journey to Aomori.
Their destination is favored by witches, as it’s full of nature and affinity for magic. They begin to live their new life by living with Makoto's second cousins, Kei Kuramoto and his little sister Chinatsu.
She encounters a lot of magical creatures, for example an anthropomorphic dog who is a fortune teller! She might live her life in a normal highschool, but every day with Makoto is everything BUT ordinary!

Are you a person that dislikes hanging around kids? Their snotty noses, their invasive questions and way more things that somehow just piss you off?
Well, I too, couldn’t stand kids.
However this show shows you how fun it can be to be around kids on a daily basis.
It’s all about the friendship between Seishuu Handa and Naru Kotoishi. Seishuu is an up-and-coming calligrapher, often described as young, handsome, talented, but unfortunately, a narcissist to boot.
Naru however is an energetic and cheerful 6 year old girl from Goto Islands, who doesn’t understand personal space. After Seishuu becomes enraged by a veteran calling his award winning piece unoriginal, he quickly loses his cool with severe repercussions

As a punishment from his father, Seishuu is sent off to an island called Goto, far away from all the luxury he is used to, so that he can self-reflect on all his deeds. Now that he is thrown into the rural area, he has to find inspiration and create his own style, which is easier said than done. The neighbourhood kids (led by Naru), highschoolers and energetic old men keep barging into his house! The newest resident of Goto island, Seishuu, only wants to get his work done, however the energetic Goto islanders are incredibly incapable of minding their own business!
The arrogant and narcissistic calligrapher learns more than he was planning to, whether he wants it or not.

How's this? Have I piqued your interest with any of these? If not, don’t you worry. More blogs are on their way with genre’s you’re probably into!
If there’s a certain anime genre you want me to write about, be sure to leave a comment!
Enjoy the last bit of summer, stay hydrated and have fun!
