You know what that means, romance anime. :)
I picked out a few that will entertain you and your partner on this special day!
Are you single? That’s okay too! These shows will fill you with serotonin, so you too, can enjoy the day of love!

Ore Monogatari

This anime will exceed your own expectations about the typical romance genre.
Prepare to get attached or even relate to the characters!
After writing this synopsis for you guys, I might just go and rewatch it myself this Valentine’s Day! :)

With his muscular build and incredible height, Takeo Gouda isn’t exactly your average 16 year old high school freshman.
He might look intimidating because of his appearance, but he has a heart of gold and only wants the best for everyone.
Luckily he’s admired by the boys at school for his courage and chivalry.
However, unfortunately these traits do not help much with his love life. If his looks were’nt enough to scare the girls away, Takeo’s best friend who’s always at his side, Makoto Sunakawa easily steals the hearts of all the female students, with just his looks!
Including every girl Takeo has had feelings for!

When Takeo heroically saves the cute and angelic Rinko Yamato from being molested on the train, he falls in love with her instantly, but suspects she might be interested in his best friend. While Takeo falls more and more for Rinko, he unselfishly decides to act as Rinko’s cupid, even when he likes her so much.
Everything for the happiness of others, right?

At first glance you would never think of the beauty and the brains, Kyouko Hori, getting along with Izumi Miyamura, a meek boy who keeps his distance from his fellow classmates.

However, things are not always like they seem.
A fateful meeting between the two after school has revealed the truth about them both to each other.
Even though Hori is very popular at school, she has little time to socialize with her friends due to housework.
On the other hand, Miyamura goes unnoticed by his peers, his body secretly tattooed and piercings that make him look like a gentle delinquent.

Having opposite personalities yet sharing some odd similarities, the two quickly become close and often spend their time together in Hori's home. As they both come out of their shells, they share with each other a side of themselves hidden from the outside world.

 

 

Fruits Basket (2019)

This anime and manga is very dear to my heart.
My very first manga was a Dutch Fruits Basket edition, it took a while to understand how to read the panels correctly.
I still own that book to this day and love the reboot anime that came out in 2019.
This reboot has 3 seasons and an upcoming prequel movie, so enough to keep you occupied!
Enough handsome men and women to make you swoon and enough drama to keep you pulled in!

 Our main character, Tooru Honda, has always been fascinated by the story of the Chinese Zodiac that her mother always told her when she was young.
However, a sudden tragic moment changes her life, leaving her all alone.
Tooru is now forced to live in a tent outside, but little did she know that her temporary home is on the private property of the highly esteemed Souma family.
When an older Souma cousin, Shigure, and the prince of her school, Yuki, stumble upon her house, she has to explain her residence.
Not wanting her to reside in a tent, because of potential danger, she gets offered a room in their house.
However soon after taking residence there, she gets caught up in a fight between Yuki and his aggressive cousin, Kyou.
While trying to stop the fight, she learns that the Souma family has a well hidden secret of their own.
Whenever hugged by someone of the opposite sex, they transform into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

This is the start of an adventure filled with laughter, romance and drama!
